Website Development Cost Guide: Transparent Starting Prices for 2026

Why we publish starting prices

Most agencies hide pricing behind a form because every project is different. That is true, but it is not a reason to leave buyers guessing whether a conversation is worth their time. Below are the starting points we quote from, what sits inside each band, and the factors that move a quote up.

Every figure is a starting price for a fixed written scope. Once we have scoped your project the number is fixed: we do not bill hourly against an open-ended estimate.

Business and corporate websites: from $1,200 / £950 / AED 4,500

A standard business website covers up to about ten pages: home, about, services, portfolio or case studies, blog, contact and the legal pages. It includes responsive design, on-page SEO setup, contact forms with email delivery, analytics and Search Console configuration, an SSL certificate and one round of design revisions.

The price moves up when you need custom illustration or photography, multilingual versions, a heavily bespoke design system, complex animation, or integrations with a CRM or booking system.

  • Up to 10 pages, responsive on all devices
  • Technical SEO setup, sitemap and structured data
  • Contact and enquiry forms with email notifications
  • Analytics and Search Console connected at launch
  • 30 days of post-launch support included

E-commerce stores: from $2,500 / £2,000 / AED 9,000

An e-commerce build covers catalogue setup, payment gateway, shipping and tax rules, order emails, customer accounts and a basic product import. Shopify and WooCommerce sit at the lower end; custom or headless storefronts sit higher.

Catalogue size, marketplace or ERP synchronisation, subscription billing, multi-currency and multi-warehouse logic are the four things that most often double an e-commerce quote.

Custom web applications: from $5,000 / £4,000

Portals, dashboards, booking platforms and internal tools are quoted after a paid or free discovery depending on complexity. The starting figure assumes authentication, role-based access, a core workflow, an admin area and deployment.

For applications we recommend phasing: ship a genuinely useful first version, put it in front of real users, then fund the next phase from what you learn rather than from a specification written before anyone used it.

SEO and digital marketing: from $450 / £375 / AED 1,800 per month

Monthly SEO covers technical fixes, commercial keyword strategy, on-page optimisation, content production, internal linking and monthly reporting tied to enquiries rather than impressions. Competitive markets and multi-location or multi-country targeting cost more because the content and link workload is genuinely larger.

We ask for a minimum six month commitment on SEO, not as a contract trick but because meaningful ranking movement inside three months is rare and any agency promising otherwise is selling something else.

AI software and automation: from $1,500 per build

AI assistants, retrieval over your own documents, WhatsApp automation, document and invoice processing and internal copilots are quoted per use case. The starting figure covers one well-defined workflow with your data sources connected, plus tuning after go-live.

Model usage is billed separately at provider cost, and we show you the projected monthly usage before you commit so there is no surprise on the second invoice.

Dedicated teams: from $1,600 / £1,300 per month

If your work is continuous rather than project shaped, a dedicated developer, designer or SEO specialist working full time in your tools is usually cheaper than repeated fixed-scope quotes. You get the same person month to month, in your stand-ups, with a monthly rolling agreement.

What changes a quote

Six factors account for almost every difference between two projects that sound identical on a call.

  • Number of unique page templates rather than number of pages
  • Content readiness: whether copy and images exist or need producing
  • Integrations with payment, CRM, ERP, courier or accounting systems
  • Languages and regional variants required
  • Compliance requirements such as accessibility, GDPR or industry rules
  • Timeline: compressed delivery costs more because it needs more people

How to get an exact number

Send us your current website or a rough scope and we will return a written quote with a fixed price, a delivery timeline and a clear list of what is and is not included. If your budget is below the starting points above, say so on the first call: we will tell you honestly whether a smaller phased build makes sense or whether you would be better served elsewhere.
